Happy Halloween!

Look what arrived today! Got myself a Canon Powershot G12 as an early Christmas present! Ordered it online thru Multiply yesterday and got the package today! Yup, that quick and hassle-free! Here’s a not-so-techie review: 

If you’ve noticed, I haven’t been posting much photos from events anymore. That’s mainly because I find it a bit dragging to take photos with a bulky dslr (I use 35mm lens) and as much as possible, I wanna use it for work-related shoots only. 

The Canon PowerShot G12 offers great image quality for such a compact camera. The colors are great and vibrant plus it captures RAW image files and 720p HD video! 

On the rear of the camera sits the vari-angle LCD screen attached by a hinge on the camera’s left. The screen can be pulled away from the camera about 180° on a vertical axis and then rotated around 270° around a horizontal axis.

Took it out for a spin today! Can’t wait to share with you guys my first set! This is a little hard for me to admit but I’m starting to get addicted to buying stuff online (even just window shopping lol). With more than 100,000 shops, I highly encourage you guys to shop at Multiply! Almost all the stuff I bought from Multiply are gadgets because it’s cheaper and they’ll deliver it right at your doorstep (with shipping fee of course) in 1-3 days only! Here’s a guide, hope it helps! 

Chill day outfit. Woke up early to go all the way from Quezon City to Makati to have breakfast with Lissa (and some of her readers) hosted by McDonald’s! Went malling after with Lissa and her family then chilled with my cousins. I’ll tell you more about it on my next blog post! Anyway this is what I wore today. I’ve been looking for an olive jacket for so long and I finally found one! Layered it with a blue green corduroy button down, both from Forever 21 Men.

I love food. Well who doesn’t? One Sunday afternoon after church, I stumbled upon a quaint restaurant along the famous Maginhawa strip in Quezon City. I was hungry and I suddenly had this craving for Mexican food, my comfort food. Good thing, I tried Mexican Express because personally, this small resto beats all other Mexican food stores. Aside from my favorite which is the crispy super taco, let me share with you some of their best-sellers:

Mexican Express is located in 162 Maginhawa St., Sikatuna Village, Diliman, Q.C. and 2nd Level, Unit 8, University Mall, Taft Ave, Manila. Thank God it opened in University Mall! I think I’ll be frequenting UM for this! Yes, it’s that good.

Nacho Grande (Php110)-This was my appetizer. Man, this is so good! The jalapenos were the perfect topping! And the cheese….wow. 

What’s in it? Tortilla chips smothered with your choice of toppings, ground beef, cheese sauce, mild salsa, jalapenos and sour cream.

Crispy Super Taco (Php129)- My personal favorite! Cheap but yummy! I can eat this everyday. 

What’s in it? Refried beans, taco beef, fresh salsa (onion, tomato, green bell pepper and cilantro), lettuce, grated cheddar cheese, sour cream wrapped in a freshly fried over-sized crispy tortilla. 

Quesadilla-Cheese (Php70)- Always a crowd favorite! How can such a simple food taste so delicious? 

What’s in it? Pan grilled flour tortilla stuffed with cheese and white sauce (cheese-garlic-onion spread). Add chicken strips of chicken quesadilla. Served with mild salsa. 

Super Burrito-Beef (Php129)- My dad is a vegetarian but he couldn’t resist this!

What’s in it? Your choice of grilled steak or chicken, Mexican rice, refried beans, all layered with freshly chopped cilantro, tomato, green bell pepper and white onions, mild salsa, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and sour cream rolled in a warm soft flour tortilla.

Chimichanga (Php90)- My first time to try chimichanga and I am definitely craving for more!

What’s in it? Flour tortilla stuffed with sauteed chicken, bell peppers, onions, corn kernels, potatoes, secret herbs and spices, cheddar cheese, folded and lightly friend. Served with mild salsa. 

Flauta Chicken (Php90)- Must Try!!!

What’s in it? tortilla filled with chicken, bell pepper, white onions and cheddar cheese rolled and lightly fried. Served with mild salsa. 

Try Flauta Cheese (Php55)- Tired of the usual cheese stick? You have to try this!

What’s in it? Tortilla filled with cheese and celery, rolled and lightly fried. Served with mild salsa. 

Ice Cream Wrap (Php60)- Good thing I saved some room for dessert because this is the best!!!

What’s in it? Vanilla ice cream wrapped in crisp tortilla, drizzled with chocolate syrup and sliced almonds.

Spent the day outdoors today. Did a lot of walking and running, that explains why I look so pissed and wasted in this photo haha! I’ll tell you more about it on my next blog entry! Crazy bipolar weather in Manila as usual! It was raining one minute then the sun would come out the next. Crazy!! Anyway, decided to go all neutrals by wearing earth tones. I’m a big fan of military/lumberjack style or anything that looks heavy lol. Wore my new babies from Skechers today as well. I am very impressed with the comfort and durability of the shoes, plus it looks good too don’t you think? Definitely getting it in other colors (they have it in black and natural). Great boot for a great price. Thanks Skechers!

Went to Maginhawa today to review a restaurant then went to church, that’s it! Didn’t really do much today since I woke up around 3 in the afternoon (that’s why I look like a walking zombie in this photo). Speaking of zombies, I’m so happy The Walking Dead is back!

Stayed in school the whole afternoon to work on my projects. I felt so left out because most of my friends are graduating this term and yet I have 2-3 more terms to endure. I sound like a total geek (although I look the part haha) but at the end of the day, school should still be our top priority (naks). But this outfit really makes me feel like a professor, an author…a smart person in general lol. Also reminds me of what Ross Geller and Joey Tribbiani from the tv series f.r.i.e.n.d.s. wear haha!

What I wore to a chill Saturday with the family. Not used to wearing a lot of color but I think I’m starting to like it! Anyway, I took a break from schoolwork and running errands today to relax! Got up early to hit the gym (something I haven’t done for a month) then went swimming with the family. Went home to watch The Dog Whisperer, walk my dog, pig out and sleep! That’s it! It’s Friday! Went to school for voice recording because my friend was looking for someone with a low-pitched voice so they got me to do the voice over lol.
