I really go all the way to Mega Mall to dine at Yabu: The House of Katsu—the first and only authentic katsu restaurant in the country. It’s already my fifth time to eat there and I think now’s the perfect time to share my “Yabu experience” with all of you!

The Katsu Ritual: Step 1—grind the fresh black and white sesame seeds.

Step 2—then pour the special tonkatsu sauce.

Step 3—Mix the sesame seeds and sauce together and dip the tender katsu!

Appetizers—Hiyayyako Tofu (cold silken tofu cubes in ponzu sauce, sprinkled with bonito flakes) and Superior Potato & Egg Salad (chunks of potato and egg, tossed in creamy mayonnaise-mustard dressing)

Chicken Katsu Curry (Php 320)—Served with authentic katsu, special curry sauce, unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, unlimited cabbage with sesame dressing and a bowl of fruit. The katsu is so crunchy on the outside yet so soft and tender on the inside, you can just slice it with chopsticks!

Seafood Katsu Set 2 (Php 515)—Salmon black tiger prawn, crab and oyster. Served with miso soup, a bowl of fruits and unlimited cabbage with sesame dressing. Oh and they serve unlimited rice too!

Head on over to Yabu: The House of Katsu at 2/F Mega Atrium, SM Megamall! For promos and updates, follow @YabuPH on Twitter and Instagram! Happy dining!
