DLSU Bloggers Congress

Last Wednesday (July 13) I was invited by De La Salle University + Office of the Vice President for Internal Affairs (University Student Government) to be one of the guest speakers for a seminar called Bloggers’ Congress. It was my first time to give a talk about my life as a blogger so I was quite nervous and excited! This was also the first time I didn’t bring my camera with me! I dunno why, guess I was too nervous to even care haha! Stole a bunch of photos from people (if you took the photo, please let me know so I can credit you).

This was such a big step for me cuz I never liked public speaking. Just the idea of being in front of an audience by myself made me so nervous, but if we wanna grow, we need to be out of our comfort zones and that’s what I did.

Thank you so much to DLSU for giving us this opportunity. To the very caring organizers and to everyone who came and supported the event! We hope you were able to pick up something from our talk!

Met up with Lissa after my 9-12 Typography class then we had milk tea at Zen Tea.

With Mikki. We were two hours early so we had a whole lotta time to spare!

Oh nothing to see here. Just standing beside THE Jason Magbanua!!! $@&#*^%!!!

With Lissa & Jerik (one of the organizers). Thanks for being very accommodating!

With Nicole (the smart and witty host! I love her!), Lissa, Jerik, Jill and Nina! Thanks Jonver for the photo!

With my co-speakers Jason Magbanua (film), Nina Fuentes (travel), Jill Bantang (food) and Lissa Kahayon (fashion)! It was great meeting you guys!

People! They were all very participative, they asked a lot of questions too!

Getting ready for our talk!

The first speaker was Jill Bantang of The Food Scout. I love her life! I’ve always wanted to be a food blogger! She was very lively and very humble as well.  I learned a lot from her!

The next speaker was Nina Fuentes of Just Wandering. She’s a travel blogger. She is living the life! Most of her trips (local and international) are sponsored! She gave great insights/tips too!

The third speaker was Lissa Kahayon of Scene Stealer. She talked about her life as a fashion blogger. I love her honesty and you would really see how committed she is! Good job, Lissa!

My turn! I was the second to the last speaker! I talked about my life as a blogger. The perks, the advantages, disadvantages and some tips as well. I was a bit nervous at first but I was happy I got to be my jologs-self again when I started being comfortable with the audience lol. I hope you guys were able to learn something from my talk!

Didn’t know there was gonna be an open forum but I’m loving my awkward hand gestures lol

We gave some styling tips to the audience. We brought some of our clothes as well.

There was a also a game wherein some people from the audience were tasked to style a look using clothes from Lissa & my wardrobe! Here are the winners! Good job guys!

Having a highschool musical moment with Lissa. We look like we’re singing a duet haha!

The last speaker was the very talented film videographer THE Jason Magbanua! This man really inspired me to be better at what I do. Plus, we were seatmates and he got my calling card! Haha I hope I can tag along to his shoots!!!

We were given our certificate of appreciation. So don’t hate, appreshhaaate! lol

Met some readers that day! Some of them even cut their classes for it! Thank you so much and it was really nice meeting you guys! But don’t cut your classes again haha

Lissa looks amazing as always!

Went to Zen Tea again with Lissa before heading home. I look so tired!!!

Mom, dad, look!!! lol

Thank you to the sponsors and to Sir Jason Magbanua for these goodies!

Coolest thing ever. A framed artwork made by The Event Project team! I love gifts that are personalized! You guys are too nice! Thank you so much!!!

Freebies from Liqud Bar, Manila Ocean Park! Thank you!

All the way from China! Thank you to wholesale-dress.net for sending these fun and interactive shirts haha! Will shoot an outfit post soon!

Again, thanks to everyone who came! It was great meeting each and everyone of you guys! Also, my next talk will be in DLSU again (July 23) then UST (August 7 or 9 I think) then UE (August). Will keep you guys posted! Thanks again!
