My friends and I wanted to do something different one Friday morning. Instead of heading to our usual hang outs, we bought tickets to The Mind Museum at Taguig and fed our minds instead of what we usually feed—our tummies! We knew we were in for an unforgetable museum experience! We got the Science Summer for 6 promo wherein for every five (5) tickets bought, you get 1 additional FREE! We were all set to experience unique hands on, minds on exhibits.

The Mind Museum is a 12,000 sqm of thrilling exploration, which featured over 250 interactive exhibits! We purchased the all-day pass to maximize our stay and to check if true to their branding- science will really come alive.

You will be welcomed by a MindMover, what they call the museum’s resident scientists and a cool robot named Aedi!

The Mind Museum is the first science museum of its scale and scope in the country. I am so happy it is done beautifully and it’s really something to be proud of! Truly world class!

After the MindMover shows you the different areas you can explore, you’re on your own! The idea of the museum is for you to get lost and discover things on your own.

Bad hair day for me. Experienced the electrostatic energy via the hair-raising Van de Graaf Ball!

It’s Gerd and Angel’s turn! The static ball didn’t work on Gerd probably because he had too much hairspray on. Haha!

My friends and I really enjoyed this part of the museum! After a bright flash of light, your shadow gets imprinted on the wall for a couple of seconds! We spent about 10 minutes inside doing a bunch of silly poses!

The Earth Gallery—learn a lot about dinosaur fossils and other fossil types here. You’ll also learn how the power of cosmic collisions and volcanic eruptions ended the dinosaur era with the museum’s Mass Extinction diorama. You can also dig your own fossil, see a volcano erupt and touch a huge dino poop! lol

The Mind Museum is made by Filipinos for Filipinos! The exhibits present science in over 250 interactive exhibits through 5 interconnected galleries: Atom, Earth, Life, Universe and Technology. Here I am checking out the light bridge!

How the light bridge looks from outside! I don’t mind getting lost here! Other corridors include the Avenue of Life, and the Hall of Philippine Science that makes science that much closer to home.

Universe Gallery—In this gallery, an interactive display gives you a close up view of the moon as it changes phases. The life and death of a star is dramatized using multimedia and hanging models. And of course, a space tour isn’t a space tour without a planetarium stop over. Let me show you around!

According to my friend who’s into architecture, almost all the exhibits in The Mind Museum are designed by Filipino artists and fabricators who worked closely with scientists here and abroad to execute science principles of facts clearly and beautifully. Also, I heard the architect of The Mind Museum designed the DLS-CSB School of Design and Arts building (my college) as well!

Knowing Home: Omniglobe—This is one of my favorites in the museum! One of the exhibit’s newest features helps you take a step ahead. With a live feed, you get a visual update on the current state of the planet—from active volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis to a global weather report from a month ago to the past 24 hours. See the world in real time, exactly as it turns.

Dressed for space! You can also steer a Mars rover and time travel through the tunnel craft—sucks I didn’t get to take a photo but my friends and I had so much fun walking through it! The idea is for you to get disoriented. Did that sound fun to you? Haha try it!

The Sounds of Space—sit back, relax and hear the sounds in space! I wanted to take it home and use it as a home theatre! lol

The New Space Shell—The Mind Museum’s custom-built planetarium just got better. Now you can lounge on special couches while watching Cosmic Collisions happen around you. I seriously learned a lot from this! One of my favorites in the museum!

You can change the phases of the moon! Awwwoooo!

I’ve been actually wanting to go to The Mind Museum ever since it was still under construction five years ago. I actually blogged about it back in 2009! The inner geek in me was so happy!

How cool is their resident robot, Mimo and other things you can do in the museum! You can see through the museum’s night vission glasses, enliven solar bugs and print with a pioneering printing press.

I really love how everything in The Mind Museum is interactive! Here I am smelling different scents!

At the Inner Space Track—Did you know how life started here on Earth? I read from the marker inside the Space Track that it started as a single cell over 3 billion years ago. Meteor showers surrounded our planet at that time and when they fell on Earth, they brought along carbon molecules, one of which is the building blocks of modern DNA. I feel so smart! lol

I want to share everything I saw and experienced at The Mind Museum but I’ll leave it up for you guys to explore! Educating yourself is probably the best gift you could give to yourself. Visit The Mind Museum and feed your mind!

Do you love Hainanese chicken as much as I do? I was able to try it in Singapore and instantly became addicted to it. I can seriously eat it on a weekly basis! And now, I am very happy that I don’t need to go out of the country anymore to satisfy my craving! Wee Nam Kee has authentic Singaporean cuisine and serves one of the best Hainanese chicken I’ve ever tasted (plus their sauces are soooo good). I heard about Wee Nam Kee’s Yellow Chicken Festival online. Intrigued, my friend and I went to Wee Nam Kee in Glorietta 2 right away to check what the rave was all about.

I think we ordered too much for two people. Haha! Wee Nam Kee in Glorietta 2 (just beside Coffee Bean) is much more spacious than any branches I visited. This one has function rooms for gatherings and can accommodate 50-60 people. Which reminds me, my mom’s birthday is coming up….hmmmmmm. :)

Steamed Chicken (Small P288 | Medium P488 | Large P888)—Yummy! It’s delicious and a healthy alternative to fried chicken. Steamed chicken is also good if you’re trying to bulk up.

Hainanese Yellow Chicken Rice (small-php388, medium-php768, large-php1,388)—Here it is! The star of the show! Haha! The yellow chicken is one of the world’s finest chicken breeds famed for its extra juicy flavor. It’s more premium than regular chicken because the skin is thicker and fatter when it’s cooked—so it’s juicier and more tender. You could really tell the difference from the white chicken. This is worth a try!

I asked the crew why the yellow chicken is thicker and they told me it’s because of the chicken’s diet! They have their own exercise routine, they are walked around for a while then they are sent back to their cage. Unlike the local chicken wherein they run a lot so they have skinny…chicken legs. lol.

Take advantage of the Yellow Chicken Festival because they only have it till June 30—and it’s available in only 2 of their branches (Glorietta 2 and Serendra).

Stir-fried Clams in Spicy Sauce (php280)—If you like Singapore’s chili crabs, this one is something similar! I’m not a big fan of spicy food but this one is really good! You can request it if you want to make it spicier or lessen it.

Fried Mantou Bread (4pcs)—One of my favorites! You can dip it to the spicy sauce of the stir-fried clams or the chili crab. I personally like it with condensed milk! Eat it while it’s hot and crispy!

Cucumber Lime Fizz (Php120)—The cucumber lime is so refreshingly good! Perfect for this crazy summer weather!

Marmite Pork Ribs (Php270)—Pork fried ribs coated in sweet marmite sauce topped with sesame seeds. It’s the vegemite that the Aussies eat with their breakfast, Wee name Kee turned it into a dish! Very tasty.

Hainanese Yellow Chicken Rice (Steamed and Roasted Combination-php1,388)—a combination of steamed yellow chicken and roasted chicken. Both tastes awesome but I personally like the steamed one better.

Hainanese chicken isn’t complete without the unlimited pounded ginger, dark soya sauce and chili sauce! I love how Wee Nam Kee is so generous when it comes to their condiments. But the thing is, you don’t need a lot because the dishes taste good on their own!

Warm Roti with Milk Tea Sauce (php115)—There’s always room for dessert. We’re so lucky we have desserts here! (Singaporeans are not big on desserts). Wee Nam Kee came up with playful renditions of Southeast Asian desserts like warm roti coated with milk tea sauce with caramelized bananas!

3 Flavor Chocolate Truffle Buchi (php88)—My personal favorite! I highly recommend this one! This isn’t your ordinary buchi. It’s hot and crispy outside then you get that melted chocolate goodness when you bite it! There’s dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate! I highly recommend that you end your meal with this!!!! Your belly will not regret it!

Mango Sago Pudding (php185)—Wee Nam Kee took the components of mango sago and turned them into a tapioca pudding with panna cotta at the bottom. Very festive and refreshing!

Wore this to the VIP opening of the newest mall in town—SM Aura Premier! It was such a fun, crazy and hectic night. My friends and I had to jump from one event to another. There were countless ribbon cutting ceremonies, blessings and shows! They also launched Hollywood A-lister Sarah Jessica Parker as the face of the new upscale mall. SM Aura Premier is a work of art—and it opens to the public today! I’ll be there for the Forever 21 fashion show at 6! See you there!

Went to the launch of Crocs’ new collection last week at Whitemoon Bar. My favorite comfort footwear brand officially announces the arrival of their take on the classic topsiders! The event was perfect because it was overlooking Manila Bay and we got a gorgeous view of the sunset. I’m really happy to be representing Crocs once again along with Laureen and Camille. I’ve been a Crocs lover ever since I got my first pair. Here’s what I wore to the event!

Short sleeve button down from Uniqlo | I like how the color of the button down is soothing to the eyes—plus the pigeon print (naks pigeon talaga) added a nice little touch since there were tons of ~~kalapati~~ pigeons along the bay.

Boat shoes from Crocs | What I love about Crocs’ boat shoe line is that it has the look of a classic topsider, but has the feel of Crocs which we all love. Every time I slip on a pair of Crocs, I feel the comfort. We boys are accustomed to heavy footwear, but Crocs is entirely different with how they were able to make a whole day of walking bearable.

Wearing denim on denim during summer may not be the best decision I made today but good thing this tri-tone chambray shirt is soothing to the eyes—sort of. I walked for the Folded & Hung fashion show last year and this was supposed to be the outfit I was going to wear for the fashion show. They changed it the last minute but I’m happy I got to keep the outfit haha!

I am proud (and thankful) that I got to participate and walk for Ayala Mall’s Style Origin 2013 last night at Trinoma Mall. Style Origin is a much anticipated annual fashion show which gives us a preview of the latest collections for spring/summer of the different participating brands. Hosted by Robi Domingo, the show featured top notch celebrities such as Xian Lim, Julia Montes, Phil Younghusband, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, etc! I walked for the finale of the Cushe show and I’m glad I was introduced as a blogger which means they need to forgive the fact that I am too short to be a model. Hahaha! Such an honor to be the only blogger in the show. I love Cushe! I was a fan of the brand even before I modeled for it. It still feels surreal to represent the brand! A few years ago, I was doing behind-the-scenes work covering for these sophisticated fashion shows, and now I am part one! Big thanks to my Cushe family for trusting me!

Since it’s summer, I am trying my best to inject some color into my wardrobe. I think it’s time to take a break from my usual black, heavy denim, cargo pants look—for now at least! Anyway, I wore this to an out-of-town trip with my buddies yesterday. I know this is a style blog so I apologize for wearing slippers in this outfit post! Haha forgot to bring decent shoes! I’m sorrrrry lol

Tri-tone shirt from Yishion | I discovered this new brand while I was strolling in Shang the other day. I really like the fit, fabric and style of the clothes. Had a shoot today (as a photographer) with the young and stylish interns of RSSI! I’m sure you guys see them in your favorite stores such as Topman, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, Ben Sherman, Miss Selfridge and Basic House! I know they’ll make it big in the fashion industry because they are in good hands! Catch them at Robinsons Magnolia tomorrow at 5pm for a very fun and hip ~~graduation~~ fashion show! Went on a camping trip a few weeks ago with my friends at Nagsasa island, Zambales. I’m proud to say I survived two days in the wilderness! No signal, no internet, no decent restroom and no fast food, haha! Setting up our own tent, making new friends on the island, having drinks, sharing crazy stories and stargazing at night—it was definitely one for the books! There’s always something new to try and I can’t wait for our next summer trip!

Here’s something you can wear to a music festival or a day trip. Make sure you guys bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, a fully charged cellphone, cash, IDs, some wet wipes and a handy (preferably waterproof) camera! Speaking of festivals—only 3 days to go till the biggest event this summer—Close Up Summer Solstice! 12 hours of non-stop partying? I’m sure it’s gonna be crazy!
